The Taiwanese Tablet Industry, 2Q 2015

This research report presents shipment volume and value forecast and recent quarter review of the Taiwanese tablet industry. The report includes shipment volume and value, ASP, and product mix analysis. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with tablet brands and makers.

The report finds that the Taiwanese tablet industry's shipment volume fell to around 18.5 million units in the first quarter of 2015, down 35.9% against last quarter. The downtrend of the industry's shipments was in part due to the lukewarm shipments of Apple's tablets and in part due to the absence of new products from other branded vendors. The decline is expected to continue into the second quarter, but in a flatter slope. It is projected that the industry's shipments will reach around 17.7 million units in the second quarter of 2015, down 4.1% sequentially.
