Firms such as Nvidea are coming up with tablets designed for specific purpose like the shield tablet has been designed for gaming, although not for hard core gamers, the nabi kids tablet comes with customized software for kids.”

According to the report, tablets are small in size and lighter than laptops, making them easy to carry around, with a longer battery life, easy-to-use touchscreen, and high-resolution displays. Since 2013 tablet manufacturers have been working on resolution in their displays and the pixels have been increased to 218 pixels per inch, whereas in laptops it is only 116 pixels per inch. These factors will drive market growth during the future growth.

Further, the report states that tablets and phablets are distinguished based on the screen size, where phablets have screen size from 5.1 inch to 6.9 inch; tablets have screen between 7 inch and 15 inch. Phablets can be used as phones and be carried around whereas it is difficult to use a tablet as a phone. The popularity of phablets is a big challenge for the survival of tablets.
