In 2012, Esterline Technologies introduced a digital HUD for combat and ISR aircraft that deploys a solid-state display with a 28-degree field of view. BAE Systems developed LiteHUD, which uses waveguide optical technology and is 85% smaller than existing HUDs. The company showcased its DLE HUD, which is specifically designed for helicopters involved in mission-critical operations, at the 2013 Seoul ADEX. Elbit Systems launched SKYLENS, a wearable HUD for commercial and military aviation, in 2014.”
