About Squash Equipment
Squash is played across the globe; however, it is largely popular in the Americas and Europe, because of the presence of a high number of squash courts and the popularity of the sport in the regions. Due to increased product features in squash equipment, the market is expected to grow moderately during the forecast period. The moderate growth is attributed to the already popular and high growth of other racket games like tennis and badminton.
Technavio’s analysts forecast the global squash equipment market to grow at a CAGR of 1.2% during the period 2016-2020.

The report covers the present scenario and the growth prospects of the global squash equipment market for 2016-2020. To calculate the market size, the report considers the revenue generated from the sales of squash equipment sold to individual consumers across the globe in 2015.
The market is divided into the following segments based on geography:
Technavio Announces the Publication of its Research Report – Global Squash Equipment Market 2016-2020
Technavio recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global squash equipment market: Amer Sports, Dunlop Sport, HEAD, Prince Global Sports, and Tecnifibre
Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: ASICS, Babolat, One Strings, Slazenger, and Solinco
Commenting on the report, an analyst from Technavio’s team said: “The application of nanotechnology provides greater advantage and potential to increase the durability and performance of squash rackets. In the case of squash rackets, nanotechnology provides the equipment with high strength and stiffness, reduced weight, reduced friction, and abrasion resistance. Nanomaterials like carbon nanotubes and nanoclay fullerenes are increasingly being used to manufacture squash rackets to enhance performance. For instance, Wilson introduced this technology through its nTour racket series, and HEAD introduced it through its Titanium line of squash rackets. The intense competition among key competitors also makes them differentiate their rackets based on design, performance, and technology. For instance, in 2015, Tecnifibre launched a lightweight racket named Dynergy AP 125 as a part of its Dynergy series, which makes it easy to handle and control. HEAD’s Graphene XT series is yet another example of lightweight rackets.”
According to the report, the number of squash tournaments played across the world is significantly increasing, owing to the rise in participation of regular players over the last couple of years. Squash associations like PSA, along with many country-specific associations, are spending more on supporting basic level tournaments to encourage participation. This increase in the number of competitions is directly proportional to the demand for squash equipment and frequent replacement of old rackets, which consequently propels market growth. The PSA organizes over 220 tournaments per year across the world. Approximately 1,000 players from each region have been registered with the PSA.
Further, the report states that squash has a limited adoption rate on the basis of its popularity and acceptance. While squash is mainly played in the Americas and Europe, the growth is significant in APAC. One of the major reasons why squash lacks a universal appeal is the global popularity of tennis. As tennis is popular across the globe and has higher adoption and participation rates compared to squash, especially in the Americas and Europe, most consumers in the aforementioned regions prefer tennis over squash. Despite speculations of squash being a part of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and performing reasonably well, the sport lacks a global appeal.
