A radio frequency filter, or an RF filter, is an electronic filter that is widely used in radios, televisions, and wireless communication devices; and are designed to operate on signals ranging from medium to high frequencies. These devices include some filtering, which is based on the signals transmitted or received. Bandpass filters, which are a type of RF filter, can be used for seismology, sonar, and medical applications like ECGs and EEGs. Varicap diodes (or varactors) are also a type of RF filter that is often utilized as voltage-controlled capacitors and is incorporated in TV tuners to electronically tune the receiver to different stations.
