Commenting on the report, an analyst from Technavio’s team said: “Green polyolefin is produced by effective sequestration of carbon dioxide in sugarcane. This helps in reducing greenhouse gas effect on global warming. The market for bio-based polyolefin is increasing due to combined efforts of manufacturers, consumers, and government officials for promoting development and acceptance of these products across the globe.”
According to the report, polyolefins are easy to color and mold. These are lightweight, non-porous, odorless materials. Polyolefins can absorb added color effectively and provide the same thermal stability to both hot and cold items. Advantages of packaging using polyolefin shrink film include cost efficiency, good product protection and preservation, and the ability to bundle multiple products in one. Increasing demand for polyolefin, primarily from the food packaging industry is expected to drive this market during the forecast period.
