Laser diode also called as diode lasers is a part of the semiconductor laser. The laser diode is an electrically pumped system in which the active medium is formed by the p-n junction. The positive substance is charged due to which the electrons in positive substance jump to fill the holes in the negative substance. The electrons lose energy in the form of photons when they jump, which are known as quanta.
