According to the CDC, gonorrhea is the second most commonly reported communicable disease after chlamydia. In 2014, as per the estimates by CDC, there were around 350,062 reported cases of gonorrhea (a rate of 110.7 per 100,000) in the US. The highest incidence of gonorrhea was observed in heterosexually infected men, especially those aged 25-34 years. During the last 10 years, women constituted only around 20%-30% of all the reported cases of gonorrhea.
