Global Enterprise VSAT Market 2017-2021
About Enterprise VSAT
VSAT terminals are communication terminals that transmit and receive text, audio, and video data using satellite broadband Internet services. These terminals operate toward geostationary satellites on Ku, Ka, and C bands. The size of the terminals is between 1.2 and 2.4 meters in diameter. A VSAT network consists of a main station or hub and other sites located in remote places, which communicate with the geostationary satellite. These networks provide wireless broadband connectivity in remote and underserved areas that are not covered by wireline networks. They also provide value-added services such as local area network (LAN) services, Internet access, and data transmission.
Technavio’s analysts forecast the global enterprise VSAT market to grow at a CAGR of 9.53% during the period 2017-2021.

Technavio Announces the Publication of its Research Report – Global Enterprise VSAT Market 2017-2021
Technavio recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global enterprise VSAT market: Gilat Satellite Networks, Hughes Network Systems, ViaSat, and VT iDirect.
Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: Bharti Airtel, Cambium Networks, Comtech Telecommunications, Emerging Markets Communications (EMC), GigaSat, Newtec, OmniAccess, SageNet, SkyCasters, Tatanet Services, and Telespazio.
Commenting on the report, an analyst from Technavio’s team said: “The latest trend gaining momentum in the market is cloud-based big data services. Satellites generate large volumes of information in the form of images, which can be difficult to analyze. This has created the need for data analytics as it would provide meaning and structure to large volumes of unstructured data. Companies realize the growing need to analyze the data generated by satellites and are intending to enter the analytics space.”
According to the report, one of the major drivers for this market is increased use of satellite services for cross-vertical applications. VSAT plays a vital role in enabling communication for emerging technologies such as public safety operations. With the changing technology and growing demand for world-class health facilities, the need of the hour is telemedicine. Telemedicine is the exchange of medical information from one site to another via electronic communications to improve a patient’s health status. It includes a variety of applications and services using two-way communication via video, e-mail, and other forms.
Further, the report states that one of the major factors hindering the growth of this market is congestion of frequency bands. The satellite technology and its applications in core sectors such as aeronautical and maritime are growing rapidly. Also, the requirement of higher frequency bands has increased significantly to facilitate effective radio communications. Owing to an increase in the number and size of satellites, congestion has become a challenging task in delivering application-suitable frequency bands.
