Commenting on the report, an analyst from Technavio’s team said: “Changes are also being made in the vehicles to support the self-driving features. There has been a trend where the self-parking is coming down from luxury cars to the economical cars. Cars equipped with adaptive cruise control have radar and laser systems installed to automate navigation. If the driver is not able to slow down the vehicles and there is a high probability of collision, then electronic brakes will get activated and will cause the vehicle to stop and prevent it from a possible collision. This is how the increase in electrification is playing a major role in improving the overall efficiency of the vehicle.”

According to the report, growing concern for increased emission of GHG will be a key driver for markrt growth. Electricity production from fossil fuels is the major contributor for the emission of greenhouse gases. Around 30% of the total greenhouse gases produced in the US is produced from fossil fuels. The second major contributor to greenhouse gases is the automotive industry. Around 26% of the total emitted greenhouse gas is from transportation, which includes emission from cars, trucks, buses, ships, planes, and trains.

Further, the report states that installation of electric coolant pumps requires upgrading of the cooling system, which can be a big challenge for the electric coolant pump market. The radiator and the fan assembly needs to be upgraded to accommodate the electric coolant pump. Engines with larger radiators will have more heat dissipation, as the coolant provided to it will rapidly move around the radiator. In such cases, it will be required to improve the assembly of the radiator to accommodate the electric coolant pump. Also, during idle time, the time required for the electric coolant pump to dissipate the heat will increase, and in such cases a larger radiator would give more surface area to dissipate the heat.
