A large portion of Lithium iron phosphate battery consumption is attributed to China. The reason for this high demand is the significant increase in the use of battery-operated vehicles in the country. Growth in the use of Lithium iron phosphate batteries is due to the expected long-term development in the electric vehicle sector to reduce carbon emissions and support alternative fuel sources. Around 12,500 tons of Lithium iron phosphate was sold globally in 2014, and it was mainly sold to China, which almost accounted for 75% of the total Lithium iron phosphate sold globally. This was mainly because Chinese electric vehicle enterprises adopted to Lithium iron phosphate as power batteries of cathode materials.”

According to the report, increase in renewable power generation will be a key driver for market growth. The growing population and depletion of fossil fuel reserves have raised concern about the focus on renewable energy production. Also, the integration of renewable energy resources with power grid networks has increased worldwide. The growing importance of renewable energy in addressing climate change and improving energy conservation has driven industry growth in recent years. The intermittent nature of renewable energy resources has also been a major cause for concern in the market. Wind power and solar power are the two widely used energy sources for renewable electricity generation. Because of its intermittent nature, generated power is stored in the battery for later use. Thus, the efficiency of the battery is more important to mitigate the increase in electricity losses.
