Wheel speed sensor, also known as ABS speed sensor, is used to monitor the speed of the wheel through tone wheel regularly. Wheel speed sensor transmits the tone wheel readings to the ECU (Electronic control unit) for making decisions regarding brake pressure adjustment during sudden braking. In some vehicles, the sensors are placed on both wheels to monitor the speed separately. This information is continuously sent to the ECU for processing, which adjusts the pressure (during sudden braking situation only) based on this information.
