About contrast media injector
Contrast media injectors are medical devices used to improve and enhance the quality of images produced inside of the body. These injectors comprise chemical substances (contrast media) used in magnetic resonance imaging, medical X-ray, computed tomography, ultrasound imaging, and angiography. These devices allow the radiologists to interpret the images accurately and examine the normal and abnormal conditions of the body. Contrast media can be administered by three ways: orally, rectally, or intravenous (intra-arterial). The two most commonly used contrast media are gadolinium and iodine-containing agents.
Technavio's analysts forecast the global contrast media injector market to grow at a CAGR of 5.11% over the period 2014-2019.

Technavio recognizes the following companies as the key players in the Global Contrast Media Injector Market 2015: Bayer, Bracco, Mallinckrodt, Nemoto Kyorindo and Ulrich medical
Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: ACIST Medical Systems, APOLLO RT, Anaecon, Guerbet, Qingdao Goodpro, and Vivid Imaging.
Commenting on the report, an analyst from Technavio’s team said: “The integration of IT systems into contrast injectors is an emerging trend. Many hospitals are increasingly adopting IT systems to collaborate data directly with electronic medical records (EMR) and radiology information systems (RIS) for medical imaging procedures. This has enabled to reduce costs and time of diagnostic imaging procedures, and optimal usage of contrast media with less wastage.”
According to the report, the demand for diagnostic imaging techniques has increased drastically over the past few years, which is significantly contributing to the share of overall medical expenditure. According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the rise in the procedural volume of diagnostic imaging services outstripped all other medical services in terms of growth rate.
Further, the report states that adverse reactions associated with contrast media and injectors pose a major challenge. Medical practitioners and radiologists must be aware of the risks and complications involved in using contrast media and injectors in order to minimize adverse effects. Economic reforms in the healthcare sector also hinder the market growth.
