Worldwide Tablet Market Shares, 2015: Transition from Slate Tablets to Detachable Tablets
This IDC study provides an analysis of vendor performance in the tablet market in 2015. At the global level, Apple (share of 23.9%), Samsung (16.2%), and Lenovo (5.4%) formed the top 3 tablet vendors. In the United States, Apple (29.8%) and Samsung (13.3%) remained firmly entrenched as the top 2 vendors. RCA (10.1%), LG Electronics (9.2%), and Amazon.com (8.7%) rounded out the top 5."The tablet market recorded its first shipments decline since Apple introduced the iPad in 2010," states IDC Research Director Jean Philippe Bouchard, Tablets. "Beyond this market decline, there are areas of growth like with detachable tablets and opportunities for vendors with a strong brand that would resonate with a productivity value proposition."
