This IDC study reviews the performance of the worldwide PC market during the fourth quarter of 2014 (4Q14). It looks at the market performance of desktop and portable PCs in major geographies, including the United States, Western Europe, Japan, Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ), and the rest of the world (ROW). Details on unit shipments, market value, and average selling prices are provided, along with a review of the competitive landscape of the top PC vendors.
"Although, overall, the market remained in the negative growth rate zone as compared with the same quarter a year ago, the worldwide PC market continued to show signs of recovery," says Rajani Singh, senior research analyst at IDC's United States Quarterly PC Tracker program. "After several quarters, we now see some genuine improvements in consumer sales too."
