The channel is constantly evolving, and whereas many channel partners are happy to continue to sell products via transactional methods, many suppliers are moving toward the provision of contracts to their customers, regardless of business size. These contracts can be simple web-based loyalty schemes or a mix of vendor-provided/channel-owned platforms that enable customers to be more effective in their print and document management. They create a degree of loyalty and can lead to additional long-term revenue streams and profits, said Phil Sargeant, program director, IDC Imaging Hardware and Document Solutions.
