U.S. Virtual Pay TV Subscriber Forecast, 2017–2021
This IDC study presents a forecast of virtual pay TV subscribers in the United States through 2021 and an analysis of key developments and market drivers and inhibitors. "IDC estimates that subscribers to virtual pay TV services in the United States totaled nearly 1.5 million at the end of 2016," says Greg Ireland, research director, Consumer Digital Transformation and Multiscreen Video, at IDC. "The recent entrance of AT&T's DIRECTV NOW is an important step forward for the market as industry participants and consumers anticipate next moves by large internet companies poised to create more disruption.
