This IDC study examines the market shares of vendors in the U.S smartwatch market in 1Q16."Smartwatches continue to gain salience within the United States," said Ramon T. Llamas, research manager for IDC's Wearables program. "That we saw triple-digit year-over-year growth is a strong sign that there is demand for these devices, even as they still find their place among end users. The market continues to show greater selection in terms of devices and prices, and the user experience likewise continues to improve beyond simple notifications and applications. With only a small portion of the total addressable market using smartwatches, there is plenty of room left to grow."
