U.S. 2015 SMB Application Deployment Survey: Accelerating App Migration to the Cloud
This IDC study contains U.S. user survey results regarding current SMB adoption rates for various types of business applications, either deployed in a traditional on-premise model or hosted/delivered via a third party (e.g., cloud based). Applications include basic office productivity (word processing, email, presentation), more advanced general business applications such as customer relationship management (CRM) and ERP, specialized applications such as travel and expense management, industry-specific applications such as CAD/CAM, and infrastructure management applications like storage/file management/data backup and IT asset management.
"In just a short time, cloud IT has risen in the conscious of many U.S. SMB CIOs and IT managers. Industry observers no longer ask whether cloud IT is being deployed in the SMB space but instead ask which apps are seeing more adoption growth than others. This latest survey indicates to IDC that outperforming SMBs have started to view cloud IT as a competitive advantage that can drive top-line business results. As such, it is clear that the majority of the IT market needs to develop an SMB strategy to tackle this burgeoning opportunity," said Chris Chute, vice president, Global SMB Cloud and Mobility Practice. Please Note: Extended description available upon request.
