Japan Support Service 2014–2018 Forecast Update and 2013 Review by Product Segment
In this study IDC forecasts the Japan market for IT hardware and software support services by product segment. The Japan support services market will continue to be difficult over the long term, due to reduced product prices and continuous IT cost reductions among user companies pushing service costs down, as well as expanded usage of cloud services and outsourcing following the trend of moving from ownership to usage. "In this tough environment, support service vendors will need to establish high-value added services (such as one-stop support or business continuity planning [BCP]/disaster recovery [DR] support) based on an understanding of their business environments and strengths, and will need to differentiate themselves from their competitors in order to grow soundly and continuously," says Seiichiro Yoshii, senior market analyst, IT services, IDC Japan.
