Japan Software Market Forecast, 2016-2020This IDC study, provides results from the Japan software market in 2015 and a forecast for the market from 2016 to 2020. IDC believes that the Japan software market will continue its steady growth from 2016 onward. The next few years will offer good chances of capturing market opportunities and growing software/cloud businesses, provided by the favorable tides of new spending on software and clouds in compliance with the Social Security and Tax Number System and a new tax system, and in the run-up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games. Thus, IDC predicts that it will be necessary to deliver to customer companies DX that makes use of software and clouds."DX will revolutionize the system development of companies. User companies will design applications that match their own business models and will engage in development by combining software components and cloud services. In addition, vendors will be required to rapidly provide fine-grained components via software or cloud services, rather than offering traditional, "heavy-industrial-product-like" integrated packages. It will be crucial for IT suppliers to formulate business strategies aimed at delivering DX to user companies and to search for possibilities in all business opportunities that DX presents, rather than confining themselves to existing business or products," argues IDC Japan Software and Security Research Manager Mitsuhiro Iriya.
