Japan Enterprise Networks Market Shares, 2016: Enterprise Router/Ethernet Switch/WLAN Market
This report provides an analysis of the 2016 vendor share and vendor trends in the whole of the Japan enterprise network equipment market and in each product segment that includes Ethernet switches, routers, and WLAN equipment. In 2016, the Japan enterprise network equipment market ended slightly underperforming results of last year across all product segments. Cisco Systems — which had gained the leading position in all product segments, namely, Ethernet switches, routers, and WLAN equipment — maintained a share of just over half the entire enterprise network equipment market. Among the second-ranking and lower ranked vendors, Allied Telesis and Yamaha pulled away from 2015's closely fought competition.Kenichi Kusano, communications group manager, IDC Japan, says, "All vendors in the enterprise network equipment market — long considered to be mature — should be conscious of developing solutions that maintain an appropriate balance between product- and market-oriented approaches. The market's three leading companies — Cisco Systems, Allied Telesis, and Yamaha — are engaged in good examples of such solution development. The key point is whether vendors are able to offer fundamental solutions that indicate what form enterprise networks should take, while simultaneously considering their customers' needs."
