Japan Datacenter Infrastructure Survey 2014: Challenges and Investment Trends

This IDC study analyzes the results of a survey conducted on 341 Japan companies and organizations that own datacenters concerning the facility and operating status of and spending plans for datacenter infrastructure (including buildings, electrical, and air-conditioning equipment).

The comparison between commercial datacenters owned by datacenter service providers and enterprise datacenters owned by general enterprise shows that datacenter service providers are more motivated to spend on datacenters. "Datacenter infrastructure vendors should focus their efforts on providing effective solutions for improving datacenter return on investment," says Mimei Ito, IT services research manager, IDC Japan.
