Japan Cloud Services User Demand Analysis 2014

Japan Cloud Services User Demand Analysis 2014

This IDC study presents user trends by analyzing the results of Japan Cloud Survey 2014, which is a user survey conducted by IDC in April 2014, and comparing against similar past surveys.

Cloud boasted of two features, which are "streamlining existing IT" and "new IT platform." However, it is not easy to manage these two value propositions. Moreover, user base will expand along with cloud penetration, which requires diversified and fragmented cloud solutions. "An ecosystem is vital in order to cope with these two value propositions, as well as the diversifying and fragmenting cloud solutions. The success or failure of the ecosystem in the cloud market is directly linked to vendor competitiveness," says Satoshi Matsumoto, IT service research manager, IDC Japan.
