IDC's Worldwide Internet of Things Security Products Taxonomy, 2018
This IDC study presents the worldwide internet of things (IoT) security products taxonomy and ties closely with IDC's Worldwide IoT Infrastructure Taxonomy, 2017. This represents a yearlong and continuing study of IoT security software and hardware products and is the result of collaboration with worldwide IDC analysts."IDC has identified rising interest and adoption of IoT security products and technologies to address risks to embedded systems and improve the security posture, safety, and reliability of industrial control system environments. The focus of this IoT study is to identify security products and components that mitigate risks to IoT devices and 'network of things' environments. This taxonomy will continue to be revised as new IoT security products and solutions emerge and markets mature." — Robert Westervelt, research director for IDC's Security Products practice
