The 2017 Health and Human Services Summit: Building Ecosystems to Create Outcomes and Impact

This IDC Perspective highlights the 2017 Health and Human Services Summit: Creating the Future of Outcomes and Impact, held September 22–24, 2017, at Harvard University. This summit focused on building an ecosystem of organizations that work together to design and deliver services that address the holistic needs of individuals and families. Health and human services summit participants believe that building new ecosystems of service to grow capacity is important, and 53% indicate it is critical."The pressure to improve service and capacity outcomes will increase over the next five years," says Adelaide O'Brien, research director, IDC Government Insights. "This is driving creation of ecosystems, enabled by cloud and Big Data, and technology accelerators such as artificial intelligence and machine learning that deliver new value/services and new outcomes that cannot be provided individually by members of the ecosystem," she adds.
