Hannover Messe 2018 — Time to Implement
This IDC Perspective provides our analysis around some of the key highlights from Hannover Messe 2018. Hannover Messe is the world's largest industrial automation event that takes place each year in Hannover, Germany. Leading vendors from all aspects of modern technology converge, and many collaborate, to showcase how the current state of technology is transforming the way in which businesses operate. The event includes things such as robotics, digital twins, simulation, augmented and virtual reality, and IoT. Having attended the event over subsequent years, we have seen a linear evolution around how modern tech is impacting business. It has evolved from ideation to proof of concept, and this year we saw clear examples of the value delivered where implementation has occurred.IDC's Research Director for Service Robots, John Santagate, says, "Hannover Messe provides visitors with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the cutting edge of technology. There is no event like this in the world that brings together a complete portfolio of modern technology and all of the leading tech providers in the world where visitors can experience the current state of tech and get a glimpse into what is coming in the near future."
