European Storage Manager Survey 2015: Enterprise IT Ripe for Software-Defined Storage

This study analyzes European storage managers' attitude, adoption patterns, and uptake barriers around software-defined storage (SDS) solutions. It presents the results of a recent IDC survey of 556 Western European storage managers, IT decision makers, and influencers from small, midsize, and large enterprises about their plans around software-defined storage technologies in 2015.

"SDS solutions see healthy growth in Europe, as European organizations are transforming their infrastructure to be ready for the demands of digital transformation. Organizations are seeking storage technologies that can help them to become independent of expensive proprietary storage hardware products and adopt a highly automated, agile, and software-driven infrastructure to respond quicker to changing business needs and contain costs," said Carla Arend, program director, European storage and cloud research, IDC.
