End-to-End ICT Security Requires a Holistic Approach

This IDC Perspective covers the need for enterprises to think of security holistically rather piecemeal, and on an end-to-end basis across their ICT estate. As both telco and enterprise networks evolve enterprises can take advantage of these and other developments to both improve and optimize their security investments."IDC research shows security is a consistent concern for the enterprise. But enterprises can allay these concerns by taking advantage of the capabilities in core telco networks, enterprise infrastructure, and specialist security capabilities to mitigate the potential risks involved," said Mike Cansfield, associate vice president, IDC Europe Telecommunications and Networking."Such 'inherent security' is increasingly in demand by enterprises and security operations teams as they struggle to cope with the security skills shortage. Telcos and network providers must highlight how they are helping to relieve their customers' security burden," said Dominic Trott, associate research director, IDC European Security.
