China Manufacturing IoT Forecast and Analysis 2016–2020
This IDC study presents a five-year forecast for the China manufacturing IoT industry as of May 2016. This study reviews and analyzes the market context including both drivers and inhibitors of IT application growth, highlights the significant market development, and provides the best estimates of China manufacturing IoT spending and forecast for 2016–2020 by technologies, usage scenarios, and subverticals. Meanwhile, this study also analyzes the industry opportunity and trends and then offers advice to technology suppliers."Despite the early stage of IoT adoption, and ecosystem development, IoT in China is growing in depth and breadth as manufacturing companies formulate their IoT strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency, capitalize on emerging technologies such as cloud, big data, and mobility, and embrace digital transformation (DX). Meanwhile, the initiative of IT/OT convergence and 'digital twin' also spur the demand on IoT technologies. However, despite the opportunities, the competition is also getting fierce, which requires IoT providers to place specific focus on subverticals and usage scenarios, as well as to identify the right partners," says Yves Wang, senior research manager, Manufacturing Industry Research and Consulting, IDC China.
