As HP closes this chapter, it begins a journey as two individual but related companies focused on meeting the information technology (IT) needs of enterprises and individuals. New acquisitions and partnerships. Seldom does a megamerger or acquisition have a ripple effect across the entire ICT market spectrum. But when it does, the impact goes deep — and often leaves indelible marks on the industry. While important to Canada, the WIND Mobile acquisition by Shaw Communications more than just pales in comparison with the immediate, short-, and long-term implications of the biggest tech deal in history — that between Dell and EMC.New solution offerings. The last quarter of the calendar year saw a large number of new offerings across the entire ICT spectrum. Most of the announcements were focused on the 3rd Platform and mostly designed to focus on a vendor's shift to the cloud.
