Business Strategy: Western European Governments Get a Grip on Big Data and Analytics

This IDC study presents the findings of a 3Q14 survey conducted among 270 government IT and non-IT executives in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the U.K. The analysis focuses on the adoption of and investment plans in Big Data and analytics (BDA). The analysis of recent survey data indicates that Western European government IT executives are ready to invest in Big Data and analytics.

"Government executives will realize the short-term benefits of Big Data and analytics by focusing on fighting financial fraud and abuse. But in the long term, they will be able to harness the value of convergence between Big Data and analytics as well as IoT by deploying flexible event-based architecture," said Massimiliano Claps, research director, IDC Government Insights.
