Business Strategy: Insights from the 2016 Supply Chain Survey

Business Strategy: Insights from the 2016 Supply Chain Survey

This IDC Manufacturing Insights report is our biannual Supply Chain Survey, wherein we explore the priorities and improvement areas that manufacturing companies are focusing on, today and tomorrow, with particular focus on digital transformation. "Indeed, digital transformation is a huge topic for the manufacturing supply chain, so much of the focus of this year's survey was to get a practical understanding of where companies are headed in terms of the adoption of digital technologies in the supply chain and the areas where we would expect to see potential disruptions," says Simon Ellis, program vice president, Supply Chain, for IDC Manufacturing Insights. "Ultimately, whether it is the transformation of the supply chain operating model or the consequences of omni-channel disruption, the supply chain must be an enabler for change, not an obstacle."
