Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) Human Capital Management Market Shares, 2015: Analytics-Driven People Decisions Kindle Market Growth
This IDC study provides a sizing of the HCM applications market in 2015 and vendor share of the top vendors; historical revenue data is shown for the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) region. The regional revenue for the HCM market was US$509.2 million in 2015, representing a growth of 7.9% over 2014. HCM forms an integral part of worksource transformation initiatives and is also one of the low-hanging fruits in a company's digital transformation vision. Although there is a very strong traction for cloud-based HCM solutions, which continue to grow at a healthy double-digit pace, on-premise investments for HCM software has been taking a hit in the last three years. 2015 is the third consecutive year of declining revenue for on-premise based HCM software. At this pace, we expect public cloud investments for the entire HCM suite in the APEJ market to overtake traditional license/maintenance deployments by the end of 2017."The HCM market has taken a strong liking toward software as a service (SaaS) and it has already overtaken the customer relationship management (CRM) market, which had a head start, in terms of adoption. The push started from small and medium-sized businesses, but the SaaS bug has already bit some of the large enterprises in the region, and we can see a lot more of them warming up to the idea. Added to this, the move from periodic feedback loops to an anytime, anywhere feedback mechanism, the increased affinity for social HR applications, and the demand for predictive analytics dashboards will keep both the vendor and HR executives busy, tweaking their HCM offerings and worksource transformation strategy respectively," says Sabharinath Bala, research manager, IDC Asia/Pacific Enterprise Applications Software.
