Transmission Line Construction in the US
The Transmission Line Construction industry has performed well over the past five years, driven by an expansion in demand from private electric power companies, which is by far the industry's largest market. In the coming years, the industry is expected to grow at an even stronger rate over the five years to 2021. Demand from private electric power customers is expected to continue to expand as economic growth increases electricity demand and as power generation is increasingly shifted from coal to natural gas, requiring substantial infrastructure investment. In addition, demand from both government and private telecommunications customers is also forecast to grow, driven by improved government budgets and the need to update and expand existing telecommunications networks.
Operators in this industry provide construction, repair, rehabilitation and maintenance work for a variety of forms of electric power and telecommunications infrastructure, including power lines, power plants, radio and television towers and cable infrastructure. Industry operators, however, do not perform construction work on hydroelectric power stations, the construction of broadcast studios or electrical maintenance work within buildings.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
