Refrigeration Equipment Wholesaling in the US
In the five years to 2016, growth in the Refrigeration Equipment Wholesaling industry has largely been driven by an increase in consumer spending and an improvement in several key downstream markets. In addition, greater commercial construction from 2011 onward has aided industry revenue. Moving forward, the industry will experience muted growth. The trend of manufacturers becoming more involved in the distribution process, dealing directly with downstream markets, will continue to be a threat to industry wholesalers. These factors, along with thin profit margins and market share competition, will constrain revenue growth. However, growth in the transportation sector, private construction and end-user markets, such as restaurants, all of which purchase industry products, will help increase refrigeration equipment wholesaling revenue. As a result, over the next five years, revenue in the industry is expected to increase slowly.
Wholesalers in this industry distribute commercial refrigeration equipment, including beverage coolers, cold storage machinery, refrigerator compressors, condensing units, refrigerated display cases and drinking fountains. This industry excludes the wholesaling of residential refrigeration equipment. Household refrigerators and air conditioners are not included. Distributors of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment are also excluded from this industry.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
