Marine Construction Services Procurement in the US
This report is intended to assist buyers of marine construction services. Contractors engineer and construct new marine facilities and structures, including transportation facilities (e.g. ports, harbors and marine terminals); submerged pipelines, ocean intakes and outfalls; subaqueous tunnels, dams, bridges and causeways; coastal restoration; marine loading systems, jetties, piers and docks; concrete mattresses, pile driving and geotubes; and canals, dikes and levees. Vendors also rehabilitate existing marine structures and facilities. This report excludes offshore oil and gas facilities construction and water treatment facilities construction. Although contractors may perform dredging activities, this report does not focus on the procurement of dredging services.
