Communication Equipment Manufacturing in New York
Over the five years to 2017, the Communication Equipment Manufacturing industry in New York has experienced significant revenue declines. These declines have been largely due to rises in import penetration. As less expensive imports satiate the domestic demand for industry products, domestic manufacturers lose market share and revenue-generating contracts. However, toward the end of the five-year period, the industry received some recovery from the its previous losses, some of which is due to the expansion of operations in the state. These expansions are largely attributed to increases in local and state government expenditure. Over the five years to 2022, due to continued growth in government expenditure, the industry expected to begin rebounding with moderate revenue increases.
