Children's Book Publishing
The Children's Book Publishing industry has been successfully meeting challenges like competition from new technologies and the postrecessionary dip in disposable income. The importance of children's literacy remained high enough that even the slightest gains in disposable income generated greater demand for children's books. In the coming years, the industry will continue to rely on the confluence power of book and movie hits to generate revenue. Savvy publishers will also continue to attempt increased penetration into the e-book market. The success of this format, however, will largely depend on the success of the e-reader platforms available, which is outside of industry operators' control.
This industry designs, edits and markets books for children aged 17 and under, including coloring and picture books. It does include e-books, but excludes online-only publishers and authors, as well as textbook publishing.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
