Agrichemicals, or agrochemicals as they are known in the industry, are chemicals or chemical products used in agriculture.

Agrichemicals includes a broad range of pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and fungicides, as well as synthetic fertilizers, hormones and other chemical growth agents. They are used for control of disease, weeds, insects and pests. They are also used to enhance crop growth and production.

In the US, the combined annual revenue of some 700 the agricultural chemicals companies totals nearly $30 billion. divisions of Dow, DuPont, and Monsanto are among large manufacturing companies in addition to the US operations of Switzerland-based Syngenta and Germany-based Bayer and BASF; and specialized producers such as CF Industries, FMC, and Mosaic. Many smaller companies are involved in mixing purchased raw materials to produce customized fertilizer compounds with special characteristics. .
