North American Residential Multichannel Video Tracker: First Quarter 2015
Compared to the first quarter of 2014, North America’s residential multichannel video market ended Q1 2015 with a loss in subscribers (net loss), but an increase in revenue ($ million).
In the US market, both cable and satellite operators lost subscribers, but gained revenue. To counter the loss in subscriber numbers, operators are increasing their basic prices, and up-selling premium services.
In Canada, cable and satellite operators lost both subscribers and revenue in Q1 2015, compared to Q1 2014; while IPTV operators gained subscribers and revenue.
