North American Broadband Tracker: Fourth Quarter 2014

In 4Q 2014, North American broadband service providers added 􂀀residential subscriptions; raising the total by 􂀀% from 4Q 2013, to nearly 􂀀 million.

US growth accounted for most of the overall gain, with US cable providers adding 􂀀 subscribers, FTTX providers adding 􂀀, and satellite providers adding 􂀀. In contrast, US DSL service providers lost 􂀀 subscribers.

In Canada, DSL continues to grow, with providers adding 􂀀 subscriptions in the quarter. Cable providers added 􂀀, FTTX added 􂀀, and satellite providers added 􂀀.

Cable is still the most popular broadband service option in both the US and Canada.
