Emission Regulations and Proposals:

Stringent emission regulations in Europe for all OEMs as Euro 6c norms are imposed by 2017 and OEMs will focus to reduce the average fleet emissions to 􂀀 g/km by 2020 using NEDC.

US Tier 2 Bin 5 and CAFÉ emissions norms will be the key driver to adopt high end powertrain technologies.

China and India will enforce Euro 5 equivalent emission standards by 2017, and will always be compliant to NEDC.

Breakthrough in Powertrain Technology:

OEMs are making heavy investments to develop low production cost technologies to be implemented in their fleet. Adopting WLTP will drive technologies such as downsizing, multiple boosting systems, Direct injection engines, hybridization and exhaust systems.

OEMs will look to optimize these technologies to obtain sustained results in WLTP.

Engine Modularity:

Standard downsized engine platforms with advanced technologies will reduce 􂀀 % CO2 emissions in the WLTP cycle.
