This report forecasts to 2022 Canadian security services revenues in nominal US dollars. Total revenues are segmented by type in terms of: guard services; alarm monitoring; cash-in-transit and related services; and other security services such as systems integration, security consulting, and private investigations. Total revenues are also segmented by market as follows: commercial and industrial, residential, and government and institutional.
To illustrate historical trends, total revenues are provided in annual series from 2007 to 2017; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2007, 2012, and 2017.
Excluded from the scope of this report are: equipment installation services (aside from systems integration); in-house, proprietary security services, such as guards, detectives, and off-duty police officers on the paid staff of (non-security) business establishments; locksmith activities; private correctional facility management; public safety personnel (e.g., police officers, public corrections officers, federal agents, and fire fighters); and security products distribution and sales.
For any given historical year, US dollar amounts are obtained from values expressed in the applicable local currency. These local currency values are converted to US dollars at the average annual exchange rate for that year. For forecast years, the US dollar amounts assume the same annual exchange rate as that prevailing in 2017.
Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading suppliers, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
