This report forecasts US freight trucking revenues in US dollars to 2021. Total revenues are segmented by establishment type in terms of: general freight trucking, long-distance, truckload; general freight trucking, long-distance, less-than-truckload; general freight trucking, local; specialized freight trucking, local; specialized freight trucking, long-distance; and specialized freight trucking, used household and office goods moving.
To illustrate historical trends, total revenues in nominal and real (inflation-adjusted) terms, and the various segments in nominal terms are provided in annual series from 2006 to 2016. A Market Environment section provides pertinent background on historical trends, key economic indicators, retail sales, NAFTA trade by truck, freight trucking revenues by commodity, and environmental and regulatory factors. A Segmentation and Forecasts section defines establishments, discusses market drivers and constraints, identifies substitute services when applicable, and assesses the impact of key drivers and constraints on each establishment segment over the forecast period.
