Taiwan in 2030: The Future Demographic
In 2030, the population of Taiwan will reach 23.6 million, an overall increase of 0.7% from 2015. Between 2025 and 2030 however, the population will begin to fall, driven by falling numbers of younger age groups, as older age groups increase. This will be caused by falling birth rates and low fertility combined with a drop in the number of females of childbearing age. Foreign citizens will increase at a faster rate than Taiwanese citizens between 2015 and 2030.
