Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel), founded in 1955, is a telecommunications operator in Singapore. In 1993, it was publically listed on the Stock Exchange of Singapore. It expanded operations to Australia and incorporated Australian integrated communications provider, Optus, as a wholly-owned subsidiary. SingTel has also invested in telecommunication businesses in Thailand, India, Philippines, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Africa and Pakistan.
