Mastellone Hnos was the second-ranked packaged food company, and the leader in dairy, in Argentina. Burdened by a heavy financial crisis, with major losses recorded in both 2014 and 2015, a 25% share of the company was sold to Arcor for USD60 million. All indications point to Arcor acquiring 100% of Mastellone Hnos as it has the option to purchase a further 10% stake in 2017 for USD35 million, and the remaining 75% share between 2020 and 2025.
