Volume sales of large cooking appliances increased by 1% in 2016 due to stimulus measures by the Taiwanese government from November 2015 to February 2016. The Bureau of Energy allocated abundant funding to stimulate the consumer market by subsidising the purchases of energy-efficient and water-saving household appliances that were marked as Rate 1 or Rate 2 under local energy labels. After a sharp increase in sales in January and February because of the initiatives, growth quickly tapered.
