The backlash against the amount of sugar contained in soft drinks has spilled over into juices. Gone are the days where a glass of orange juice was part of the daily morning routine. Consumers  smoothies for a cup of coffee. Highlighting functional benefits is not enough, the industry needs to educate consumers about the real nutritional value of juice and emphasise freshness and organic credentials.
